The time that I finished reading this book
is very timely. Not only in America, we, in other parts of the world, have also
many questions toward the elites of society. In P. 76, there is a citation of
Watnkins, “Money makes a lot of people rationalize behavior that they normally
would not participate in.” This perfectly matches what is happening in Korean
politics: Korea-Japan relations, nominations of government officials, moral
hazards in employment and recruit.

In fact, I also feel that we are on the
verge of redefining the meaning of democracy. So far, equality in opportunity
have been the most important value in it. Yet, the author add one more item to
it: Equality in actual outcome.

In the end of the book, the author finishes
by writing “Our task now is to recognize that that struggle is ours.”

This book is a good read for those who would like
to know what is ahead in the future of democracy of the world.
