인생의 고난과 아픔을 소재로 설교와 글쓰기에 힘쓰는 저자이다. 비신자 가정에서 태어나 가정폭력 및 부모이혼 등의 어려운 환경에서 복음으로 인생이 ‘개혁’되는 체험을 했다. 그리스도 안에서 복된 인생이 무엇인지 일찍부터 깨달은 저자는 진솔한 간증을 통해 사람들에게 큰 도전을 주고 있다. 해외 선교지를 향한 그의 열정은 결국 『좌충우돌 선교지 방문기』를 출간하게 만들었다. 저자는 경북대학교 영어영문학과(B.A.)와 고려신학대학원 목회학 석사(M.Div.)를 마치고, 대구경북지역 SFC(학생신앙운동) 간사를 역임하였다.
현재는 부산 세계로병원 원목으로 재직하면서 지역 교회들을 순회하며 집회와 강의로 섬기는 중이다. 또한 매년 선교지(몽골, 필리핀 등) 신학교를 방문하여 교수 사역을 지원하고 있으며, 평소에 블로그와 페이스북을 통해 독자들과 끊임없이 소통하고 있다. 저서는 『연애 신학』, 『복의 신학』 외 5권이 있고, 역서는 『원문을 그대로 번역한 웨스트민스터 소교리문답』 외 4권이 있다.
The author has completed the Department of English Language and Literature (B.A.) at Kyungpook National University and the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) at Korea Theological Seminary. He has experience working on campus as a staff of SFC (Student for Christ), and he frequently serves young adult union retreats, dating courses, and pre-marriage courses. He is an author devoted to preaching and writing about life’s hardships and pains. He was born into a non-Christian family but experienced his life “reformed” with the gospel in difficult circumstances such as domestic violence and parental divorce. From an early age, he was interested in the Bible and doctrine, even during dating. His belief that the best textbook for dating is the Bible led to the publication of A Theology of Dating: The Partial Shadow of Marriage.
Currently serving as a cooperative pastor of Purunsup Church in Gimhae and Saegyaero Hospital in Busan, the whole family lives a missionary life. He has also been working as a lecturer at seminaries in the mission fields (Mongolia, Philippines) for six years. He constantly communicates with readers through his blog and Facebook. He has even real meetings with those who have broken hearts and pains. He is also engaged in writing, presently having five books and four translations.

The author has established A Theology of Dating with insights from his old and peculiar love letter. This book deals with how to start a relationship, the will and emotions of love, sexual desire and physical contact, and the attitude of parting, containing rich examples of ministry fields that he guides young people. Dating and marriage have continuity and discontinuity. Marriage is called a “great mystery,” and dating is a “little mystery.” He conveys the guidelines for dating and the principles of the life of faith at the same time.
In addition, the author emphasizes that the criteria for choosing a mate should be each other’s mission. In particular, what sustains the marriage is the covenant itself rather than the love of a married couple, and lasting love must be supplied in Christ. He says the Love Chapter is the sum total of all love in the world and the supremacy of love that humans can recognize. Defining love as an operation of the will accompanied by emotion, he biblically deals with true love and dating, marriage and family, childbirth and nurture, etc.
저자는 오래 전 유별난 연애편지에서 얻은 인사이트로 ‘연애 신학’을 정립했다. 이 책은 연애를 시작하는 방법, 사랑의 의지와 감정, 성욕과 스킨십, 헤어짐의 자세 등을 다루며, 청년들을 지도하는 사역 현장의 풍성한 사례들을 담고 있다. 연애와 결혼은 연속성과 불연속성을 지니는데, 결혼을 ‘큰 비밀’, 연애를 ‘작은 비밀’이라고 일컬으며, 연애 지침과 신앙생활의 원리를 동시에 전한다.
