1960년: 강릉 상업 고등학교 졸업
1966년: 가톨릭 의과 대학 졸업
군 복무 마치고 1970년 도미
Don S. Lee, pen name “Mosol” was
born in 1940, educated, received MD
degree in Korea, came to US in 1970. He
was trained in the Indiana University
Medical Center, hold a faculty position in
the George Washington University, and
retired in 2010 from the Georgetown
University Medical center.
He had learned to understand the Ancient Chinese classics in Korea,
joined a group of Korean scholars interested in Neo Confucian Study;
“Study of Toegye philosophy “退溪學,” and served the position of vice
president representing the Washington DC area for two years.
He had been active in writing critical essays, and was formally
recognized as a writer by the Korean circles in 2010.
Retired from GWU and Georgetown University in 2010.

분야역사
역사서는 언제나 글 쓴 사람 위주로 유리하게 기술하지 않는가? 많은 분들이 “일본 역사서가 그렇다”고 하면서도 아직 중국 역사서가 그렇다고 언성을 높이는 분은 몇몇뿐입니다. 동양 상고사, 특히 한국 상고사는 중국에서 당대의 석학이 이리저리 글자를 돌려 작성한 기록에 숨어 있다. 시야를 최대한 넓혀서 찾아야 한다. 편술자의 사료 풀이가 종전 사학들의 풀이와는 많이 다르다. 가능하면 사리판단의 기본이 되는 [오염되지 않은 마음. veil of the ignorance]으로 숙독해 주시길 바란다. 필자는 뿌리를 찾아 교직에서 은퇴한 이후 동북아시아 역사 연구 경과 보고를 네 권의 영문으로 출판했다. 이 책은 영문본을 종합한 내용에 마지막 단군을 찾아가는 과정을 간략히 설명한 논문집이다. 단군조선의 시말이 모두 중국 문헌에 있다. 그러나 찾는 방법이 틀려 못 찾았다. 상식적 판단이 찾은 방법의 기초다. 중국 고전에 혼미하게 기술된 특정 사건들을 중원에서 밀려난 단군 조선의 후손이 새로운 시각에서 설명한다. 필자가 설계하여 연구한 결론을 모은 새로운 학설이라 ‘각종 현대 백과사전’에 실린 내용과 비교 분석하여 독자 여러분이 스스로 판단해 주시기를 바란다.
