In Philadelphia, the Weldon Institute debates the merits of dirigibles when a mysterious man named Robur interrupts, claiming the future lies in heavier-than-air flight. Though ridiculed, Robur abducts two of the Institute’s leaders aboard his incredible airship, the Albatross. They awaken to find themselves unwilling passengers on a worldwide aerial tour. As the ship soars across continents, Robur boasts of his invention's superiority and technological prowess. Thus begins a high-altitude odyssey blending science, captivity, and wonder.
