연세대학교 통일학 박사를 취득한 정대진은 현재 한라대학교 글로벌비즈니스학부에 재직하고 있다. 한국고등교육재단 국제교류팀장, 아주대학교 아주통일연구소 연구교수를 역임했으며, 신진·소장학자 중심의 독립연구법인 ‘한평정책연구소’ 평화센터장, 민화협 정책위원, 민주평화통일자문회의 상임위원, 법무부 인권정책자문위원으로 활동하고 있다. 주요 논저로 ‘남북한 통합의 법적 쟁점: 자결권을 중심으로(통일과법률, 2018)’, 『공정한 국제질서와 한반도의 지속가능한 평화(공저, 시공사, 2021)』, 『한반도스케치北(공저, 책마루, 2021)』 등이 있다.
