A Hollywood film expedition entering the African interior is steadily overwhelmed by mud, poisoned arrows, internal dissension, betrayal, and attacks, while fear and selfishness begin to fracture the company. Tarzan, ranging through unfamiliar jungle, discovers signs of their disaster and gradually becomes aware that the expedition has wandered into a region where its members are completely unprepared to survive. As casualties mount, what began as a motion-picture adventure turns into a real struggle against death, violence, and human folly.
