이 책은 2006년 6월 출간된 『조선 상류 주택의 내부 공간과 가구』의 영어판이다. 이 책에서는 현대 주거 문화의 부정적인 면에 대한 대안으로 우리 선조들이 영위해 왔던 전통적인 생활양식, 특히 조선 시대 상류 주택의 내부 공간 구성과 그에 내재된 사상과 의미를 살펴봄으로써 우리 전통 건축이 지닌 자연주의적이고 인간 중심적인 면을 적극적으로 모색하고 있다.
