염소 삼형제는 먹을 것을 찾아 길을 떠난다. 음식이 많다고 하는 다리 건너편을 향해 가던 삼형제는 원숭이를 만나 함께 가게 된다. 다리 입구에 도착한 이들은 토끼 두 마리를 만나 다리에 무서운 괴물이 산다는 이야기를 듣는다. 원숭이는 토끼의 말을 믿지 못하겠다며 혼자 떠났다가 그만 괴물에게 잡아 먹힌다. 하지만 염소 삼형제는 힘을 꾀를 내어 괴물을 물리친 방안을 짜낸다. 먼저 막내 염소가 괴물에게 가 어리석은 척하며 자기보다 더욱 크고 똑똑한 염소가 오니 기다리라고 한다. 이 말을 믿은 괴물이 막내 염소를 보내주자, 다음으로 얼굴에 거울을 쓴 둘 때 염소가 나타난다. 괴물은 거울에 비친 못생긴 자리 얼굴이 염소 얼굴이라고 착각하여, 더욱 크고 잘생긴 염소가 올 거라는 말을 믿고 둘째 염소도 보내준다. 마지막으로 나타난 큰형 염소는 클 뿔로 괴물을 들이받아 다리 밑으로 떨어뜨린다. 이제 모든 동물들은 안심하고 다리를 건너가 음식을 구할 수 있게 된다. Ready, action!>>에서는 원작과 달리 각각의 염소와 괴물이 만나는 장면을 더욱 흥미로운 내용으로 꾸며보았다.

The three goats go out to find food. They heard that there is a lot of food on the other side of the bridge. On their way they meet a monkey who joins them. At the bridge they meet two rabbits who tell them that there is a scary troll that lives on the bridge. The monkey doesn’t believe the rabbits and goes on his own but gets eaten by the troll. But the three goats put their heads together to defeat the monster. First the youngest goat pretends to be foolish and tells the monster to wait because a bigger and smarter goat is coming. The monster believes this and sends him away. The second goat uses a mirror to cover his face. When the monster saw his hideous reflection on the mirror he sends the second goats as well believing a bigger and more handsome goat will come. The oldest goat comes at last with his horns and knocks the monster down from the bridge. Now all animals can cross the bridge safely. Unlike the original, in Ready, Action! each of the goats has his own fun away of meeting the troll.
