한국외국어대 중어과를 졸업하고, 대만국립사범대 중문연구소에서 석박사 학위를 취득하였다. 1995년 이래로 국립안동대학교(경국대학교) 중어중문학과 교수로 재직 중이다.

이 책은 세계인의 필수 언어인 영어와 중국어, 그리고 한국어의 체계적 상호비교를 통해 세 언어의 간격을 좁혀 자연스럽게 세 언어를 구사하게 하는 훈련 과정이다. 즉 영어, 중국어, 한국어의 기본적인 문법체계와 언어구조를 비교하면서 학생들이 세 언어의 상동, 상이점을 발견, 인식하여 체계적인 훈련을 통해 세 언어를 자연스럽게 구사하게 하고자 한다.
